On fire about good

Dear wonderful people,

Tomorrow, we’ll gather at 687 Centre St – the Eastern Bank – to share testimonies of healing, and how faith in God has brought tangible results. We’ll see you at 7:35pm EDT (or hear you on the phone via (605) 475-4000 x 636128, at the same time).

The readings explore the concept of “Being on fire about good!” Our church will be taking some time this weekend to focus on this idea, and we’d love to extend the invite to you, too

Here’s a passage on this topic from The Message:

Matthew 5:14-16

“You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”

Love!

  1. That Message passage about how Christ’s followers bring out God’s colors made me think of “Science is the prism of Truth, which divides its rays and brings out the hues of Deity.” (Mary Baker Eddy, _Retrospection and Introspection_, p.35)
