The story of Ruth in the Bible is a great example of how turning to God in prayer can bring sustenance and supply from unexpected places. Ruth, in utter unselfishness, vowed to stay with her mother-in-law and continue supporting her after all of the men in their family pass away.
Her commitment is encapsulated in these words:
Where you go, I will go;
where you lodge, I will lodge;
your people shall be my people,
and your God my God.
-Ruth 1:16 NRSV
They were in a challenging situation, yet events came together in a way that met their needs abundantly.
We each have the opportunity to make our own commitment to Christ in similar fashion as Ruth. Inevitably, the value of this humble state of mind will bring forward it’s due fruitage and supply in our lives as well.
We hope you’ll join us this Sunday in Johnson Park (across the street from the Green St. T stop on the Orange Line).
