In church, let your authenticity shine

A recent piece published in the Washington Post explains that millennials aren’t looking for a flashy church. The title of the article boasts the mandate, “Stop trying to make church ‘cool'”. As much as we think popularity wins the game in today’s world, there’s an important role that authenticity plays in showing people what you’re all about.

We can appreciate this point of view at JP Church. We’re grateful for the emphasis that Christian Science places on living your faith, and letting your life attest to your sincerity. We’d love to have you join us in prayer, music and fellowship any Sunday morning or Wednesday evening when we meet.

Tomorrow we’ll be in the park for our church service!

“Go this way. There is your path”

Hi there!  We’ll be in our usual place for our Sunday service; see below for details.

And a thought from the Voice Bible.  (The italics indicate words that have been filled in or adapted from the original to add context.*  You can read more about this Bible here).

For you, dear reader:

Your ears will hear sweet words behind you: “Go this way. There is your path; this is how you should go” whenever you must decide whether to turn to the right or the left.

In your newfound freedom, you will sing as if it’s a festival night.
With lighthearted joy, you will dance your way toward Jerusalem,
To the Eternal’s mountain, the Rock Israel can trust.

(Isaiah 30:21, 29)
