Sharing another good resource. (Plus: church @ Spontaneous Celebrations again!)

So there have been a few posts on this blog over the past few months that have promoted various episodes of this audio series—but I can’t help but share another one… they’re just so good.

In the live audio chat from this afternoon, some topics covered include: freedom from pornography, supporting a healthier worldwide view of women/womanhood, responses to a wide variety of questions about sex and sexuality, combatting apathy or laziness… and several other topics.

All topics were addressed from a healing perspective, and with the goal of learning more about our unfallen, unbroken selves… that is, as we were made by a God who is actually just Love itself.

Listen to the Q&A chat here:Breaking free from sensuality” – with Tony Lobl, a Christian Science practitioner.

(And you can always tune in while these chats are happening live, too, and can send in your own questions.  See the links above to find out more.)

Finally, see below for the info about tonight’s temporary church location.  We’ll be at Spontaneous Celebrations once again.  The time of the service (7:35pm EST), as well as our call-in phone number, are the same as usual.  And as usual, all are lovingly welcome.

All love,

the C.S. Society of JP

rain, rain.

Whoa, rainy day in Boston!  The clouds just opened this morning.  Magnificent downpour.  It’s the rain that the sky has been waiting to send down for days.

For those staying dry inside someplace, you might enjoy thinking about this rainy analogy today – a promise of protection:

“Clouds parsimonious of rain, that swing in the sky with dumb thunderbolts, are seen and forgotten in the same hour; while those with a mighty rush, which waken the stagnant waters and solicit every root and every leaf with the treasures of rain, ask no praising. Remember, thou canst be brought into no condition, be it ever so severe, where Love has not been before thee and where its tender lesson is not awaiting thee. Therefore despair not nor murmur, for that which seeketh to save, to heal, and to deliver, will guide thee, if thou seekest this guidance.”

-Mary Baker Eddy, in her address to the Concord Christian Science church, February, 1899.

And this evening, we hope you’ll join us in the cozy shelter of the bank community room, or on the phone, for our mid-week testimony meeting.  Details are below.

All love,

JP Church

“The physical healing of Christian Science”

Join us for church tonight, and hear the experiences of others who are striving to live a Christian life of healing.  (And share your own experience, if you’d like!)  We’ll all come together to pray, listen together to readings from our church’s pastor, and share!

In answer to a different “how” question – that is, *how does Christian Science heal?* – one particular quote has been coming to mind recently.

This is from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.  It’s a little long, but I hope you’ll agree it’s worth it 🙂

Many imagine that the phenomena of physical healing in Christian Science present only a phase of the action of the human mind, which action in some unexplained way results in the cure of disease. On the contrary, Christian Science rationally explains that all other pathological methods are the fruits of human faith in matter, — faith in the workings, not of Spirit, but of the fleshly mind which must yield to Science.

The physical healing of Christian Science results now, as in Jesus’ time, from the operation of divine Principle, before which sin and disease lose their reality in human consciousness and disappear as naturally and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and sin to reformation. Now, as then, these mighty works are not supernatural, but supremely natural. They are the sign of Immanuel, or “God with us,” — a divine influence ever present in human consciousness and repeating itself, coming now as was promised aforetime,

To preach deliverance to the captives [of sense],
And recovering of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty them that are bruised.

-Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health p. xi (read the quote in-context here)

Go peacefully today!

Waking up right on Sunday mornin’

Hello!

Sunday morning’s coming, and that means we’ve got another dose of prayer, song, readings, and love for you. This week we’re meeting at 687 Centre St. in JP (@ 10:35), but keep watching this site (or our calendar) for when we start meeting outside in our community! And you can always call in at (605) 475-4000 x636128#.

The topic this week is the Adam-dream, and wakening from it to realize present good.

It’ll be a lovely morning, which is why your presence would be so fitting 🙂

Unity,
jpchurch

Prayer this Sunday

Lord, do not hold back your mercy from me;
    let your love and truth always protect me.
Troubles have surrounded me;
    there are too many to count.
My sins have caught me
    so that I cannot see a way to escape.

    Hurry, Lord, to help me.

let those who follow you
    be happy and glad.
They love you for saving them.
    May they always say, “Praise the Lord!”

David

This Sunday we’ll be praying, reading, and singing about God’s mercy, His love, sin, punishment, reformation, and healing.  We’ll meet at 10:35am (EDT) @ 687 Centre St.  Please, join us there or by phone (605) 475-4000 x636128#.

Loooooove,

Reciprocity

Howdy church fam!

JP Church has uplifted many of our lives.  The best response is to pay it forward.  If we’ve cheered you up, cheer someone else up; if church has healed you, be open to healing someone that needs it (and/or bring them to church!).  But it’s also natural to want to reciprocate to JP Church, and we’re happy to humbly accept a hand:

  • metaphysically: Pray for church!
  • humanly: Help out with services (contact us if interested)
  • monetarily: We now have a tax-deductible donation button on our website, which accepts credit cards or PayPal accounts.  Computer users can see it right on our homepage in the upper right ↗.  It also appears for both computer and mobile users in our Share Gratitude page.

Thanks for all you do!  We love you so much ❤

“Our city is strong!

We are surrounded by the walls of God’s salvation” -Isaiah 26:1, NLT.

Come learn how church enables us to experience this!
