rain, rain.

Whoa, rainy day in Boston!  The clouds just opened this morning.  Magnificent downpour.  It’s the rain that the sky has been waiting to send down for days.

For those staying dry inside someplace, you might enjoy thinking about this rainy analogy today – a promise of protection:

“Clouds parsimonious of rain, that swing in the sky with dumb thunderbolts, are seen and forgotten in the same hour; while those with a mighty rush, which waken the stagnant waters and solicit every root and every leaf with the treasures of rain, ask no praising. Remember, thou canst be brought into no condition, be it ever so severe, where Love has not been before thee and where its tender lesson is not awaiting thee. Therefore despair not nor murmur, for that which seeketh to save, to heal, and to deliver, will guide thee, if thou seekest this guidance.”

-Mary Baker Eddy, in her address to the Concord Christian Science church, February, 1899.

Holdin’ each other up this Wednesday

Is life a struggle right now?  A string of victories?  Drudgery?  Some of each?  Whether what you need is comfort, solutions, radical turnaround, energy, perspective, or making the most of your progress, Love (which is a divine Principle) has got what you need, and we’ll hold you up and help you see it.  I know I’ve got my struggles and my successes, and so could use a little of all of those things, and I bet it’s not a stretch to guess that I’m not alone in that.  So let’s get together again this Wednesday evening and help each other to realize God’s magnificent love for us.  A good spot is 687 Centre St. in JP (or by phone at 1.605.475.4000 x636128), and let’s say 7:35pm EDT.  We’ll share some readings from some great books of wisdom, share some song, and share a bunch of testimonies about Love at work in our lives, peppered with questions, remarks, and prayer.  All are welcome, especially newcomers.  It’ll do you good, do me good, do everyone else there good… and then our uplifted thought won’t be able to hold back from doing good to our communities.  Sounds all fluffy-happy, but it works in amazing ways… come by and see 😉

Best to you,

jpchurch

Healing meeting

Hi there 🙂

In case we haven’t said it enough times, our movement is about healing.  Our meetings are one part of that: we come together Wednesdays to share healing insights in our favorite books (the Holy Bible, and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures), to share experiences of healing we‘ve had applying the Science contained therein in our lives, and to support each other.  Naturally, folks experience healing at these meetings.  (I sure have.)  We’d be thrilled if you’d like to come by and take part.  Be healed, learn to heal, sing, give a high five.  It all goes down at 7:35pm at the community room at 687 Centre St. in JP this Wednesday.  See you there!  (If you can’t make it in person, we’ll happily welcome you by phone at (605) 475-4000 x636128#.)

<3,

Called! to a testimony meeting Wednesday

Jacob was a cheater, Peter had a temper, David had an affair, Noah got drunk, Jonah ran from God, Paul was a murderer, Gideon was insecure, Miriam was a gossiper, Martha was a worrier, Thomas was a doubter, Sarah was impatient, Elijah was depressed, Moses stuttered, Zaccheus was short, Abraham was old, Lazarus was dead

God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the CALLED!

Have you done good, experienced good, or grown, despite something in your life saying there’s bad?  That’s how Love rolls, bud.  Come share it with us.  Our pastor and we will be sharing similarly.  7:35pm Wednesday, @ 687 Centre St. or 1.605.475.4000 x636128.  (Skypers, email one of us.)

Healing service with testimonies

So, if you haven’t caught on, we meet every Wednesday, and an important part of that meeting is sharing “experiences, testimonies, and remarks” with each other.  It’s so beautiful to share how we’ve experienced healing in bodily health, emotional health, career, romance, other relationships… or even all of those at once, as a dear writer published in a periodical called the Christian Science Sentinel this week.  Her account details a simultaneous healing of her eye, anxiety, a childrearing issue, a troubled business, and a rocky marriage.  Her testimony begins, “I found myself in a dark place,” but ends:

Christian Science gives us dominion and freedom and teaches us how to face every challenge—by seeing harmony in our lives right now! I am most grateful.

If you’ve experienced healing in your life, please share it with us!  Ideally by attending or phoning in, but if you can’t make it, why not leave it in the comments?

If you’d like to hear more about such healings, come on by and we’ll be so glad to share with you.  Or browse around the website linked above.  Or contact us.  God’s love is truly palpable, and we’d love to share that experience with you.

To join us this Wednesday evening, drop by 687 Centre St. in JP.  We’ll begin the meeting at 7:35pm.  You’re also invited to phone in at (605) 475-4000 x636128.

Love and health are yours.

Can we…

Can we share some healing with you?  It’s really good.  It works.  Come get some.

We’ll be sharing from 2 great books, and then many of us will share success stories of applying prayer in many situations: health, relationships, lost items found, and emotions are frequent circumstances mastered, but the list goes on.  Also, we like to sing.  And you might get hugged.

Show up at 7:35pm Wednesday at 687 Centre St. in JP for this uplift, or call in at (605) 475-4000 x636128.

See you soon 🙂

Real, powerful GOOD! It just *is*.

…and we’ll be gathering to celebrate that, together.

Weds, 7:30pm EST
Eastern Bank Community Room, 687 Centre St, Jamaica Plain
(call-in number (605) 475-4000 x 636128.)

How is God, good, moving in your life?  How are you seeing healing, progress, growth?

How are you witnessing the Christ in very real ways—today?

Come hear a short sermon from our pastor (the Bible + Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures).  Sing with us, and share your experiences of God in your life.  Or just listen.

In either case, you are loved.  Deeply.

“Let us …

abide by the rule of perpetual harmony, — God’s law.”

-Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures

We all have one Father-Mother.  We are all brethren, and we all, deep down, love each other, because we all reflect that one Mother, Love.  (And Love is the Principle of the universe.)

Meanwhile, divine justice protects the innocent.  None of us can really be victims; there is nothing of substance to falsely accuse us, either.  We are innocent, and we are protected, by Love.

Let us come together and celebrate our unity, and the efficacy of true justice.

We are hosting a church meeting Wednesday evening 7/17 that will include readings about divine justice, as well as testimonies about the efficacy of divine Love in our lives.  (And singing!)  See you there at 7:35pm at 687 Centre St. in JP.

Love always.

Let us rejoice that we are subject to the divine “powers that be.”

PS: There’s a prayer watch in effect re: the Zimmerman acquittal and its ripples in our communities; please consider prayerfully addressing the issues in your thought.  Thank you so much.
